Kori Derrick-Cisewski
Interim General Manager

Though I was new to the boating industry when I started here in 2014 I have great memories of spending summers on the St. Croix on my aunt and uncle’s boat. I grew up in New Richmond, WI and still live there today out in the country with my husband Kyle, step-daughter Kora, son Kroix and chocolate lab Kromer. I went to the University of WI – Eau Claire where I studied marketing. After graduation I spent six and a half years at an industrial machining company as their Marketing Specialist traveling the US doing numerous trade-shows. I enjoyed seeing and exploring all around the U.S. and beyond but now I am fortunate to be able to stick close to home because I believe there is so much this area has to offer. In my spare time when I’m not spending it with family and friends you will find me making stamped metal jewelry, enjoying any number of outdoor activities, curled up with a good book or visiting the UP, my home away from home! I look forward to visiting with you all this summer or any time of the year when you stop in!

Mike Hurley
Service Manager

After graduating from Cretin High School in St. Paul, I attended Dunwoody Institute for automotive repair. My interests soon led me to the servicing of boats. I am a Master Technician for Mercruiser product line as well as Mercury Outboard products. Before starting at Bayport Marina in January 2002, I worked for 12 years at Sunnyside Marina. My wife Joan and I have two children, a son and a daughter. When I’m not at work, I can be found driving my kids around Stillwater to the rink or softball field.

Dave Scheuerman

“Sherm” as I am referred to by my co-workers. I have been employed in the marina business for over 25 years. My wife Heather and I live in St. Mary’s Point with our three girls, Carly, Annika and Kaylyn. Our girls keep us very busy with their various activities. My hobbies include boating, scuba diving and watching the Vikings.

Chris Calverley
Service Technician

I grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. As a child I spent a lot of time on the St. Croix River with my family enjoying the hot summer days and cool fall nights. I also spent a lot of time with my dad ice fishing on the long Minnesota winter days. Growing up I always had a mechanical instinct and knew I wanted to work on engines. In high school I took a auto tech vocational program. After finishing high school I took a small engine repair class at WITC in New Richmond, Wisconsin. After graduating from college I went to work in the lawn care/maintenance field. I have been working at the Marina since April 2007. My hobbies include playing league horseshoes, golfing, ice fishing and boating.

Jason Ovall

My interests are fishing, sports, snowmobiling and spending time at the cabin with my family. I have over 10 years experience working on boats and have been working in the service department of the Marina since April 2006.

I’ve been working on boats for the past 20 years and have been employed at Bayport Marina since July 2003. My hobbies include hot-rodding, motorcycle riding, and spending time with my family. I enjoy boating on the Mississippi River and the St. Croix.

Tom Kislenger

I was born in Baldwin, Wisconsin, but grew up in St. Paul. I’ve worked at Bayport Marina since 2007. It’s been a great place to work with really good people. I especially like that I get to work outside most of the time. My interests and hobbies include watching the NFL, the Vikings, and cook-outs.

Scott Nielsen

I have worked on the St. Croix River for 32 years. I was the Operations Manager for three family owned marinas simultaneously for 21 of those years.

I enjoy working at the Bayport Marina and being involved in the dock restoration project, as well as many other projects here at the marina.

I live in Stillwater and have been married to my wife, Jan, for 37 years. I have two grown children – my daughter is a math teacher, and my son is a journeyman plumber. I also have three grandchildren who never fail to amuse and amaze me.

Alan Jahnsen
Grounds and Boatyard Crew Member

I am the fifth generational member of my family to have had a personal connection to the St Croix River; my great-great grandfather homesteaded the upper St Croix in the 1860’s and my great grandfather floated down on the spring drives from the late 1880’s until 1908 as a logger and a pikeman. Nearly every free moment of my late childhood and teen years were spent on the St Croix at the family cabins near Grantsburg, Wisconsin where I also attended high school. I started working for Bayport Marina as a temp during a fall haul out and found that my acquired skills in various other areas (primarily construction, equipment operation, and warehousing) lead to a full-time position.

I thoroughly enjoy working for Bayport Marina, the employees here are some of the best people I have ever worked with and I also look forward to the variety of various tasks that take place on any given day…and of course getting to be outside and on the river goes without saying!!! I have quite a few hobbies that consume my free time including the outdoors, guitar, astronomy, a fascination with history and last but certainly not least the Green Bay Packers!

Tom Matson
Certified Master Fabric Craftsman
I started in the industry in Jr. High School working in my dad’s canvas shop in St. Paul. After 15 years, I took a short break from sewing. In April of 2000 I got back into canvas craftsmanship again and over the last 16 years, I’ve worked at a couple canvas shop along the St. Croix River. I am a Certified Master Fabric Craftsman and have won numerous National and International awards in marine canvas and upholstery. Now, I am excited to work at Bayport Marina!

My wife Sherrie and I have been married for almost 30 years and we have two adult children, Nikki and Mike. Sherrie and I spend a lot of our summer weekends camping in our travel trailer at our wonderful Minnesota State Parks, and we spend all of the winter months waiting for camping season to start again!
